Ad-Aware is an anti-spyware software package that allows personal home users to protect their computers from the threats of spyware for free. New and improved features include improved detection of spyware, Trojans, hijackers and adware; better protection against rogue application and fraud tools; and enhanced defenses against password stealers and keyloggers. The upgraded rootkit removal system detects and removes threats already hiding in your system; TrackSweep hides your whereabouts while surfing on most major browsers; and improved updates, scans and resource usage allow your computer maximum efficiency and performance.
The detection database has been extended for wider coverage against malware attacks, while the Lavasoft ThreatWork feature allows you to easily submit complaints of suspicious activity for analysis. Easy interfaces make download, installation and use less complicated than before, while system restore features allow users to revert to a clean system after recovering from an attack.
Lavasoft provides unlimited support through their security analysts and volunteers at their support forums; however, more direct free technical support is only offered for Ad-Aware Plus buyers. Ad-Aware Free edition is compatible with Windows Vista (32- and 64-bit) and supports eight languages (including Flemish, Portuguese and Dutch). |
